Restaurant diners can feast their eyes on snaps

by Louise Dicks,
Gwent Gazette

A KEEN photographer is sharing his Cambodian trip with visitors to the local pub by exhibiting his favourite shots on the restaurant’s walls.
Paul Davies, of Whitworth Terrace, Tredegar, visited the South East Asian country and the bordering country of Thailand for two weeks and, as a member of Tredegar Camera Club, had his camera on hand to capture some of the amazing sights.
During his stay he took in the Temples of Angkor, capital city Phnom Penh and its markets and the Mekong Delta.
Now, his images are adorning the walls at the Rhyd Hall, Tredegar, where he is one of the regulars.
“I was so intrigued by the country and the sights that I thought it would be nice to share it with other people, and maybe it would encourage them to visit, too,” he said.
“I asked the managers Lynne and Dave if it would be okay to put a few photos up and they were happy and it’s been a success, I’ve even sold a few of them.
“I’ve always been intrigued by that part of the world as it was in the news a lot when I was growing up.
“It’s such a poor country, they don’t have a lot, but the people there can’t do enough for you.”
The exhibition will be at the Rhyd Hall for the next few weeks.
