Milton bands to aid Cambodian pupils

Milton school children are wearing T-shirt to raise money to build a school in Cambodia.

MILTON — Four bands are scheduled to perform in Milton Area High School’s Alumni Stadium Friday evening as a fundraiser for Team Cambodia.
Admission to the show is $5, with all proceeds to benefit Team Cambodia, the effort to build a school in a village in Cambodia.
The 7 p.m. show will feature Past Thought, Corey Kyle, Milltown Blues and Salle Mauve.
Past Thought is comprised of several Milton High School students, featuring progressive rock and roll. Corey Kyle, a teacher at Milton, performs acoustic oldies and originals.
Milltown Blues is a Milton-based blues band, with Bryan Noaker, principal at Milton High School, playing guitar, and Salle Mauve performs original tunes.
The show will go on rain or shine, said Noaker.
If the weather is bad, it will be moved into the high school auditorium.
Team Cambodia has been raising funds to help build a school in Cambodia, a country devastated by decades of war.
Students throughout the district have been raising funds since December, and the fundraising effort has passed the $28,000 mark. Campaign organizers had set a goal of $30,000.
“We’re hoping this will put it over the top,” Noaker said.
