Cambodia's Ministry of Planning and Investment has issued a joint license to Can Tho Cement Company, creating a joint venture that will allow mining for laterite ore in Cambodia.Can Tho will contribute nearly half a million US dollars towards the joint venture with Cambodian firm Omsaura.The overall cost of the venture is 900-thousand US dollars.Construction on the projectw ill begin next month, with a view to exploiting the high-iron clay known as laterite within two months.It is expected the mine will yield 50,000 tons of ore a month.
