Free eye surgery to poor Cambodian patients

Around 65 poor patients in Cambodia have undergone free eye surgery funded by the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Support of Poor Patients.
The operations, which took place at the Vietnam-Cambodia Hospital in Phnom Penh on December 21 and 22, was part of the commitment to help underprivileged Cambodian patients made by President Nguyen Minh Triet during his visit to Cambodia late February this year.
Fifty doctors from Ho Chi Minh City conducted surgery on 60 cataract and 5 short-sighted patients alongside providing examination and medicines for 35 others.
Since 2003, close to ten thousand poor patients in 13 Cambodian provinces have enjoyed free eye surgery provided by the Ho Chi Minh Association for Support of Poor Patients. (VNA)
