Cambodian PM plans to have ministers meeting on bus

Khmerization's comment: The idea of a cabinet meeting on the bus is a joke, if not laughable. The cabinet meeting on the bus is like a joy-ride for the ministers and will achieve nothing because there will be no debate and discussion, but they were probably just on a bus tour to hear Hun Sen's lecture and for a sightseeing only. If Hun Sen is serious about wanting his ministers to see the sufferings of the poor peasants he should tell his ministers and members of parliaments to visit their constituents and electorates on a regular basis see and to hear the people first hand. Right now the people's cries for help and the UN envoy's call for resolutions regarding land grabbings and other human right abuses perpetrated by powerful and rich people have gone unheeded. So this cabinet meeting on the bus is just a joke.

PHNOM PENH, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Thursday said that he plans to have a special ministers' meeting on bus traveling from Phnom Penh to Koh Kong province.
"We have to see clear situation of economic development of the country," Hun Sen told a graduation ceremony of about 1,500 students in Phnom Penh.
Part of the journey is on a restored national road which links Sihanoukville to Koh Kong province near the Thai border, he added.
"In the past, we had a ministers' meeting on national road one, which links Phnom Penh to Vietnam. During that time, the road was not restored yet and there were some holes and dirt," Hun Sen said.
"I want my ministers to see the situation clearly and decide what we should develop first," he added.
Generally, the ministers' meeting is held at the office of council of ministers in Phnom Penh.
