Cambodia Celebrates the 54th Birthday of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces

Cambodia has celebrated the 54th anniversary of the foundation of its armed forces on the 8th of November, reports Radio Free Asia.

In a speech during the anniversary celebration, the Commader-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed forces (RCAF), Gen. Ke Kimyan, has told the crowd that the RCAF was created under the Franco-Khmer treaty on the 7th January 1946.

Radio Free Asia has further reported that, at present, the RCAF had served in many international operations, including United Nations peacekeeping missions, humanitarian works, demining in the Sudan and multinational military drills in Mongolia.

According to the radio's report, currently Cambodia has about 120,000 army personnel.
