BANTEAY MEANCHEY (Cambodia Herald) – Customs and
police officers are letting merchants import tax-free gas from Thailand,
sources said.
The sources told Cambodian Express News, an affiliate of The Cambodia Herald, that the gas was being imported via Malai with merchants paying 45,000 riel for eight tanks.
Smuggling takes place at night with the gas stored in a local house for wider distribution, the sources said.
